Prevocational GP Placements Program (PGPPP)

What it does

The PGPPP is a fully Commonwealth funded prevocational general practice training program for medical graduates.

The program provides interns and junior doctors with supervised and supported placements with general practitioners in a range of accredited training environments.

Eligible doctors include

• doctors doing hospital training but not yet enrolled in a speciality
• Interns
• international medical graduates.

The PGPPP is managed by General Practice Education and Training Ltd.

What it achieves

The program aims to improve junior doctors' understanding of the integration between primary and secondary healthcare, and encourage them to consider general practice as a career.
