healthdirect is operated by Healthdirect Australia and is funded by the governments of Australia.

The telephone-based nurses can also provide contact details of available health services in your local area, such as GP services (including after hours services), pharmacies, hospitals, mental health services, child health services, sexual health services and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

healthdirect is available to callers in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. If you are calling from Victoria and Queensland, you will be redirected to NURSE-ON-CALL or 13-HEALTH respectively.

Calls from landlines are free. Calls from mobile phones may be charged at a higher rate than local call charges. Please check with your telephone service provider.
